In the past, there have been many laws that are beneficial to some that are in the united states. The United states has had many problems in the past. In the May of 1921, the law was passed that there were limits to be set of how many were to let by every year (http://immigration.procon.org/view.timeline.php?timelineID=000023 Historical timeline, ProCon.org, 2013). People, however, couldn’t all get in, which where people that didn’t have permission entered. On May 28, 1924 the first border patrol was authorized to keep the trespassers out(http://immigration.procon.org/view.timeline.php?timelineID=000023 Historical timeline, ProCon.org, 2013). On June 29, 1940 the first act was passed that aliens were to apply and give their information if they were in the U.S illegally. The best two divergent opinions I could find would have to be on the Democrats and the Republicans. They both have two very different opinions on the topic. The Republican party believes that it isn’t an very good idea to let the illegals in the U.S become legal because they believe that the American economy belongs to the American workers (http://www.nnirr.org/~nnirrorg/drupal/sites/default/files/republican-democratic_immigration_platform_chart.pdf Republican and Democratic Party 2012 Immigration Platform Comparison, 2012 ). The democrats on the other hand think that the immigration system is broken and that this is an chance to fix it. They believe it will also meet our goals economically and will help the nation of immigration by the many because that’s what the United States is about. There are bills that were passed indeed that helps many younger students in the United States and will or can help them academically called The Dream Act which is in effect as of now.
