Gabriel and the author of Like water for chocolate are alike and different in many ways. What we do know is that they both use the "magical realism", in both of their books. They both have many sensory details. Gabriel's book : " A very old man with enormous wings " is very descriptive about how he smells [ Angel ], how the angel's feathers must must feel like, and how his voice sounds. He does not really bring up any sensory details about taste. All of the sensory details are brought up by Laura or the author of Like water for chocolate. In Laura's book, she does a god job bringing up the food because this uses a lot of sensory details. Touches are brought up by her when Pedro starts touching her. Al thought they are brought up, they are not very descriptive. I have noticed that both of these writers use metaphors. Gabriel uses them, but not as often as Laura. When comparing foods, Laura does a god job because she uses a sufficient amount of metaphors. Personification was not really noticed or brought up in Gabriel's story as was in Laura's book. To be honest they both should have had sufficient amount of personification because they both use Magical realism.
